To support the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) in the implementation of severe weather trading in the securities and derivatives markets starting September 23, 2024, Everbright Securities International (“EBSI”)* will maintain the following services during SWT:
- Dealing, clearing, and settlement for listed securities and derivatives, including Stock Connect, after-hours trading for Futures and Options, holiday trading of designated Futures contracts in Hong Kong and designated overseas markets;
- Dealing, clearing, and settlement of OTC products such as structured products, bonds, mutual funds and forex;
- Dealing, clearing, and settlement of Hong Kong’s IPO;
- Stock borrowing and lending services;
- Electronic deposit, withdrawal, internal transfer, and currency exchange of client’s funds (excluding cheque deposit or withdrawal);
- Deposit, withdrawal, and internal transfer of client’s securities/investment products (excluding physical scrips of stocks);
- Corporate actions and nominee services for Hong Kong and selected overseas markets, subject to the arrangement of EBSI’s custodian (e.g. HKEx);
- Online change of client’s particulars, including application for BCAN under HKIDR, OTCR, or China Stock Connect;
- EBSI’s APP and online Trading Service; and
- Our Customer service hotline will operate as usual.
Points to note:
- EBSI’s offices, wealth management center, branch, and customer settlement counter will not be open to the public on SWT days.
- Clients are encouraged to use electronic methods to transfer funds to EBSI during SWT days. Please consider adjusting the electronic transfer limit of your bank account to enhance flexibility in meeting your needs.
- Clients must ensure that sufficient funds are available to cover any outstanding purchase transactions and/or margin calls on SWT days. EBSI reserves the rights to perform forced liquidation of your account portfolio if clients do not fulfill their settlement obligations.
- The account opening service will be suspended on SWT days.
- EBSI will not provide cheque deposit or withdrawals during SWT days.
- Account maintenance services will be limited on SWT days. For urgent requests related to this service, please contact your Wealth Manager for assistance.
- The services mentioned above may be affected by the availability and arrangements of EBSI's counterparties or service providers.
